Leonor Varela was born on December 9, 1972 in Santiago, Chile. She is the
daughter of Chilean biologist and philosopher Francisco Varela. Leonor is fluent
in English, Spanish, French and Italian.
Leonor started in European TV series like "Pony Trek" and the Chilean soap opera
"Tic Tac". She was soon playing bit parts in French films.
Leonor's first entry into Hollywood was a brief appearance as a ballroom beauty
in "The Man in the Iron Mask" (1998), but she exploded onto the scene the
following year in ABC's "Cleopatra".
After that, Leonor only did big productions, both in North America and Europe.
"The Tailor of Panama" (2001), "Texas Rangers" (2001) and "Blade II" (2002) were
her Hollywood gigs, while "Paraiso B" (2002), "Pas si grave" (2003) and
"Tais-toi" (2003) were her Chilean and French projects.
Leonor Varela won a Best Actress APES Award at Chile's Arts and Entertainment
Critics Awards in 2003.
