Faith Hill Biography
Beyonce Knowles was born on September 4
Faith Hill was born on September 21, 1967 in Jackson, Mississippi. Her
birth name is Audrey Faith Perry.
In high school, Faith scheduled singing gigs at fairs and churches around her
duties as prom queen and cheerleader. She made only enough money to pay the band
and buy gas for the car. An older brother drove her to gigs and bought her blue
suede boots. At age 19, Faith figured she was ready to try her luck in the city
of Nashville. Things didn't quite pan out as she planned, and Faith ended up
selling T-shirts before nabbing a job as a receptionist at a music publishing
company. Faith admits she was "a closet singer" around the office for a year or
so, until one of the in-house writers, David Chase, overheard her and convinced
her to cut a demo of a song called "It Scares Me". Faith played it for her boss,
Gary Morris, who proceeded to give her the kick in the pants she needed to
pursue her music career.
Faith visited the famed Bluebird Caf to sing harmony with composer Gary Burr,
and soon Faith was singing with him regularly. At one of those Bluebird gigs,
she got her long deserved break when Warner Bros. rep Martha Sharp, asked Faith
for a demo tape. Faith's debut, "Take Me As I Am", hit the streets in 1994. Her
hit song, "Wild One", featured Faith's take on Janis Joplin's hard-rockin'
classic, "Piece of My Heart". Faith's single, "Take Me As I Am", has sold over
two million copies, and also nailed the Academy of Country Music's Top New
Female Artist Award.
Faith Hill has three children: Gracie Katherine, born 1997, Maggie Elizabeth,
born 1998 and Audrey Caroline, born 2001.
